How We Design Your Fitness Programme

In addition to guiding and supporting you through your 60-minute workout, outside of your Hackney personal training sessions we design you a comprehensive fitness programme to ensure you meet your goals. From nutrition analysis and advice to preparing a monthly schedule of suggested physical activity, we can be as involved either as much or as little as you like.

Here’s a summary of what to expect when signing up for a Futureproof Fitness personal training programme, with a sneak peek behind the scenes at some of the admin and statistical analysis we do to keep you on track!

Your Taster Session

This is an invaluable first step when we design your fitness programme. Your trainer will get to know you whilst taking you through a 45 minute workout, asking questions about your fitness background and goals. It’s the first time we get to hear why you got in touch with us and what you want to achieve. Book your taster session here.

Your 5-Day Food Diary

Nutrition and fitness go in hand in hand, just ask Joe. If you’re making an investment in personal training, we’d rather you take a holistic approach and maintain a healthy, balanced diet too. It’ll make it that much easier to reach your health and fitness goals if you do! After our first meeting, we’ll suggest completing a 5-day food diary, telling us what you ate and drank; methods of cooking and timings of meals and snacks. We’ll then take stock of your diary and feedback some nutrition advice. We’re not qualified nutritionists, however with over 10 years experience we certainly know what works and what doesn’t!

Your Benchmarking Statistics

It’s important to keep track of your progress so you know you’re a) getting value for your investment in personal training b) on the right path to achieving your goals.

In your first few sessions, your personal trainer will grab his stopwatch, tape measure and other things and take you through some assessments relevant to your goals and background. Weight loss is one of the most common goals from all our clients, so we’re familiar with how to keep you on track. Here’s an example of a Client Assessment Form, which we keep under lock and key, with all your stats recorded and followed up at regular intervals.

Your Physical Activity Plan

It might look intense at first glance (!) but hopefully you’ll see that the initial suggested activity plan we draft up is achievable and matches your goals and preferences.

Many of our clients love these ‘tick’ sheets we email over. Stuck on your fridge it’s the perfect way to get buy-in from your family regarding your new fitness programme and a visual reminder of what you have (or haven’t!) done that week. It’s fairly flexible, with a separate row for adding in other physical activity you might have completed each week.
