Flexibility is defined as the movement available at a joint. By assessing this range of movement in your key upper and lower body joints (flexibility analysis in Wellness Analysis), we can determine what muscle groups are tight or shortened so that your flexibility training can be targeted. Stretching, the key component of flexibility training, is often underemphasised but it’s crucial for preventing injury, maintaining joint mobility, improving your range of movement and making everyday functional tasks easier. In addition, lower back pain is often caused by a lack of flexibility in your lower back and hamstring regions, so stretching will help alleviate this pain. Using the latest stretching techniques we can relax tense or hypertonic muscle groups and improve your range of motion, through a variety of neuromuscular (NMT’s) and muscle energy (MET’s) techniques. Stretching forms a key part of every personal training session, dynamic warm-up stretching and passive or assisted cool-down stretching incorporated into every session.
